De reinigende eigenschappen breken afzettingen in het hydraulisch systeem af en voorkomen zo ook vastklemmen. HLPD-oliën worden met name gekenmerkt door hun vermogen om bepaalde hoeveelheden water te absorberen zonder dat dit bedrijfsproblemen in de hydraulica veroorzaakt.
